More about GenX

The Generation Xchange (GenX) study is focused on two goals - to recruit older adults to support positive educational outcomes for elementary school children and to improve volunteers' own health and well-being.

GenX has been active in LAUSD schools since 2014. Over the last decade, GenX volunteers report increased positive well-being, a sense of purpose, and improved physical health. Our classrooms have seen increased reading and math scores, and improved behavioral outcomes in students.

"GenX volunteers lift up the community and one another, and help to shape our future, while also increasing their health and wellness."

— LAUSD teacher
